This morning we took our Subaru to the mechanic. We rode our bikes back to our hotel, but on the way we discovered some lovely paths that go along the Willamette River. It was so nice to go around a corner and see the sun glinting off the water. We saw Canadian Geese, a gorgeous Blue Heron, Mallards with babies, and too many turtles to count!

The mechanic had said we should hear the verdict by 12:30 or so, but at 12:30 I got a text that they would let us know before 2:30. So we went for a walk. We were back at the hotel when they texted the results! I can’t explain what was wrong, but it was something about a seal not working and the transmission fluid was dirty. It’s going to cost about $2500.00, but it should be ready by 3 pm tomorrow! That’s so much better than it could have been!
Sterling and I had talked about what we should do, depending on what they said. Neither of us wanted to just go home, but we didn’t know if we would be able to continue. We are so happy that we can get back on the road soon! We are planning to spend tonight and tomorrow night here and then I’m hoping to be the first rider on Wednesday to head east!
So glad to hear from you!
