Lost Valley Reservoir

We are sitting in a campsite near Lost Valley Reservoir. We are the only ones here right now. There is a camp host, but we haven’t seen them. It’s very secluded, we drove three miles on a forest service road to get to this camp. I like the idea of getting deep into the wilderness, but Sterling is not as big of a fan. The forest is beautiful all around us.

There are Ponderosa Pine, and Douglas Fir, also Lodgepole Pine.

This shrub with white flowers is Saskatoon service berry, I think. It sure is pretty!

Earlier today we road our bikes on the same trail we were on yesterday, the Weiser River Trail. It is 85 miles long, but you can access it from several points on interstate 95. We drove from Weiser to Council, where we stopped and road our bikes for about 2 hours. A storm is coming, and the wind was very strong. Here are a few pics.

After the ride we drove on to our campsite. We don’t have any signal here, so I wont send you this till tomorrow.

I’m adding this pic with the storm clouds. Last night, the 26th, we were in quite a storm, and ended up getting pretty wet and cold!
