Yellowstone 2

I’m not really an early riser, but sometimes I think seeing the sunrise every morning would be worth it!

One of the things that surprised me about Yellowstone was how much water there was!

This is Yellowstone Lake. It was huge, cold, and windy!

Our tour ended running late. How can you complain when the tour guide just wants to show you more beauty? I managed. 😦

It was seven pm by the time we got to our campsite. Luckily the sun stays up late this season. Unfortunately it started raining when we were checking in with the ranger. Better yet the rain turned to sleet! We had gotten some sandwiches at a store before we came to the campground, so we sat in our car and ate them, trying to figure out what to do. The thermometer on our car said it was 28 degrees, and we knew our tent wasn’t keeping the rain out. At Yellowstone they tell you several times that you can not sleep in your car, but the only other option was to drive out of the park, and find a hotel we could afford. Praise God the sleet and rain stopped! So we quickly put up our tent, did our absolutions, and crawled into our sleeping bags. Thankfully our sleeping bags are rated for less than 32 degrees. We cuddled up together and slept peacefully till morning. When we woke up we crawled out to see a momma deer and her baby or maybe two babies grazing on the grass near our tent. It was a beautiful morning!

So glad to hear from you!
