Shakopee, MN

When we got up this morning in Sioux Falls, it was only in the 70’s. We had found a riverside bike trail that was pretty long, so we went riding after checking out of the hotel. We only rode a little over twelve miles, but it made me tired! Sterling didn’t even break a sweat!

We have decided we have to get more exercise! This was supposed to be a chance to really get in shape, lose a few pounds, establish a healthy body, but since we are doing more driving, we have to make opportunities to get physical.

When we got to Shakopee, we found another riverside trail, but it was 85 degrees and humid! We both spent some time sweating there.

This was, maybe the first time I had been in a deciduous forest. I’ve been around many of these same types of trees before, but they were planted in a city, and were not in big groups like this. Almost like the difference between seeing animals in a zoo, verses in the wild.

At any rate, I really enjoyed it!

We saw a momma and baby ducks!

We were very happy for the shade, no mater what kind of trees they were. We also enjoyed all the birds we saw, lots of Robins, a pileated wood pecker, some nuthatches, and on they drive we saw tons of red winged blackbirds. It’s been delightful!

After we checked into the hotel, we went swimming. It was so refreshing! I’m sorry I got behind on blogging. I had some technical difficulties, and we are discovering it is kinda exhausting constantly going to new places! It’s amazing that when we get what we want it is a bit more complicated than we expected! Or, as someone once said, I found the simple life aint so simple…

So glad to hear from you!
