Perrysburg, Ohio

Today we drove from Bay City, Michigan to Perrysburg, Ohio. We saw several farms on the way, but the scenery was really similar to yesterday’s drive. We have only traveled one hundred fifty miles, so it makes sense. This area has had people living in it and controlling what happens to it for a long time. It really is different from the west!

There are so many old buildings! And flags everywhere!

It’s really beautiful!

We got up this morning and it was much cooler than it had been yesterday. We went on a two mile walk while it was still nice out. Then we packed up and headed south. We had wanted to go east when we left Bay City. A friend had suggested we go to Sault Ste Marie. It is near three of the Great Lakes. Those huge bodies of water have an effect on the area around them. It feels almost magical. But then we would have had to drive about two days in Canada, or backtrack about 200 miles.

We decided that would be too much stress. It’s really weird that we should be feeling stress, but feel it we do! It could have to do with sleeping in a different place every night. The changing time zones have had their effect. At any rate we stayed in the US, and drove to Ohio. After we got here we rode our bikes on a trail by the Maumee River. We have seen some beautiful rivers, but, sadly this is not one of them. We did have a great bike ride. Oh, and we saw a Cardinal! It was RED! We’ve seen red headed woodpeckers, red winged blackbirds, red breasted robins, but this bird was all RED! Very pretty, unwilling to let us get it’s picture.

Tomorrow we are headed for Cleveland! We will spend two nights there. And we get to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

So glad to hear from you!
