Oswego, NY

I wrote this yesterday, June 17th, but didn’t have enough signal to post it. So here it is a day late!

We got up this morning in Lewiston, just down river from Niagara Falls. We drove along the southern coast of Lake Ontario to Oswego. This is our goodbye to the Great Lakes. They have been incredible to see and learn about. We are a little sad to drive away from them.

Tomorrow we will have been away from home for six weeks. We have been missing friends and family, growing tired and homesick. Apparently you can even grow tired of having fun! We have decided against driving up to Maine. Instead we are heading to North Carolina to visit our son. We are planning to visit Scranton, PA where Sterling’s mom was born. After seeing Jason, other than visiting our daughter in Missouri, we haven’t plotted our journey home yet.

I don’t have any pictures from today, except some pics of US flags and barns. I’ve been taking pictures of barns and flags all the way across the country. To me they represent things we all have in common; we all eat, we all call the US our home. I like remembering that.

So glad to hear from you!
