We woke up in Pennsylvania this morning. On our way to Fredericksburg, VA we drove through a bit of Maryland, into West Virginia, and on to Virginia. So we have been in four different states today, without being in Four Corners! We considered visiting our nation’s capital, but decided we would rather stay focused on reaching from coast to coast, seeing family, and getting plenty of exercise. It was a beautiful drive with lots of farms and plenty of trees!

With exercise in mind, we drove a little out of our way to another Rails to Trails. This one is in King George County, and still had some of the railroad track in it. We only road a little over twelve miles. It’s more than sixteen miles long, and we had to go out and back to our car, so we only rode six miles out. It was pretty gravely, and that made it hard for our bikes, because we have kind of skinny tires for riding on pavement. Also it was in the high eighties. We were mostly in shade from the trees, so the heat didn’t bother us too much. It’s possible we are getting acclimated to the high humidity. Here are some pics from our ride

We had such a good time! And did you see all those trees?
We are headed to Roanoke Rapids tomorrow. It’s on the Roanoke River, and in North Carolina. Hope you all have a great evening!
So glad to hear from you!
