We made it to North Carolina! It’s 90 degrees, feels like 93. I’ve always wondered how they determine what it feels like. What it feels like to who? We all have different experiences of weather. The mother carrying a toddler is going to think it’s much hotter than a little old man, right?
On our way from Fredericksburg we stopped in Richmond. There is a series of parks along the James River, and a path that links them up, sort of. We decided to walk today. There were a lot of people walking on the path, and cycling would have been unpleasant. It was only ten am when we started, and we were mostly in the shade, so we had a pretty good walk. By the time we got back to our car it was 93 degrees. That kind of wore us out. Thank goodness for AC!
We didn’t see too many birds, but we did hear their pleasant songs. I have an app that listens to the songs and tells you what kind of birds you are listening to. We have enjoyed listening and seeing birds different than the ones at home. Here are some pics from our walk. It was really beautiful!

It was another hour in the car to get to our hotel, but we couldn’t check in till 3, and it was only 1. There was a Walmart nearby, ad we needed a couple things, so we went there. We ended up just walking around the store since it was so nice inside. Tomorrow we go to Wilmington, NC. We will finally see the Atlantic! I’ve really loved all the waters we have seen, but there is something special about an ocean!
So glad to hear from you!
