We started driving again today. We stayed close to the coast. Tonight we are sleeping in Pawleys Island. It is a small town on a barrier island of the same name. Unfortunately the temperature has been in the low nineties, with humidity in the 50% + range. So we didn’t spend too much time outside. We did get to see this heron trying to stay cool in the shade!

We thought North Carolina had a lot of flags flying, but South Carolina is giving them a run for their money!

We were able to go to church with Jason and Sarah yesterday! We had a great time. Afterward we went out to lunch at a nearby diner. The food was yummy! We were sad to say goodbye. It was so nice to spend time with him. He is a really neat person. Here are a couple more pics with him.

This was a statue of a pelican near where we had lunch. Of course there are lots of pelicans flying in their follow-the-leader formation, searching for that next school of fish! We have really enjoyed all the birds. Just one more aspect of this very different (from the west) coastline.
So glad to hear from you!
