Here we are about halfway to the southern tip of Florida. We passed Daytona Beach and the Space Coast. We considered stopping in and checking things out, so our adventurous spirits must be waking up again. We finished our drive, and headed to a library again. This time the library was right next to a turtle sanctuary! We had to check it out. Here are a few pics!

Here are those saw palmettos I was talking about in the last post. We were walking on a boardwalk through what looked to me like a jungle.

It was so fun to be able to walk through all these cool plants.

They called this area the tree house! So pretty!

They called this a creek. The water was so still.

This is further down the creek. The creeks I’m used to have moving water, and aren’t so wide.

We found a gazebo. It was slightly cooler in it’s shade!
I just finished talking to my brother we will see tomorrow. We were talking about how there is so much more water here. I can’t tell you how many rivers we have crossed coming down here. All the way since North Carolina there are these ponds all over the place. In Nevada, the land between highway intersections has to be watered if you want anything to grow there, in California, mostly they just plant plants that are drought resistant and can live on the rain water that falls. Here they have to have places to drain all the rain water into!

I’m a little envious. Tomorrow we make it to Ft Lauderdale!
Oh I forgot the best picture! We walked all through the turtle sanctuary and didn’t see any animals except a few birds. When we were driving away Sterling looked over and there was a tortoise crawling under the fence towards our car! We stopped, of course, and I jumped out and said “Hi” to him, and we took his picture!

So glad to hear from you!
