White Pine, TN

Today we went to church in Mt Airy, NC Yesterday when we were riding our bikes, some people were out handing out cold bottles of water. They were wearing red t-shirts that said servant on them. We decided we should check out their church, and it was a really good experience for us.

We drove about 200 miles today. It was kind of a hard drive. We drove through a lot of rain. As we were driving my brother texted, asking if we knew about the flooding in Missouri. Boy were we glad we had not been a week further on our trip, camping where there were flash floods. I read that about 200 campers had to be rescued! We had to drive in the rain and we went on a detour because of an accident that was blocking traffic. We’re so grateful we were not in any accidents. We drove partly through Virginia, and into Tennessee. It is really beautiful country!

Unfortunately, the Ivy monsters are following us!

They are everywhere!

People are very friendly everywhere we go. It’s striking to hear all the southern accents. Some are strong, others are barely noticeable. I am beginning to think that the contraction y’all is very useful!

Tomorrow we are heading to Cookeville, TN, and then to Nashville!
