Joplin, MO day 5

This is our second to the last day here with Andrea. πŸ˜” Sterling got a little one-on-one time with her today. I was meeting with my sisters on zoom. Last night Andrea cooked us all dinner at her and Andrew’s place. She made Mexican Cake. It’s a casserole with refried beans, hamburger meat, and cheese. It’s all topped with corn bread. It was really delicious! Andrew’s parents came and Triniti, her husband Trenton and their four daughters. Teryn, Andrea’s second daughter, came with a couple of friends. It was really nice! We also got to video chat with Tessa. She is the youngest of Andrea’s. She is on a trip in Texas right now. For some unknown reason I didn’t take any pictures of these beautiful people.

We have so enjoyed seeing our granddaughters. We didn’t get to spend time with them when they were younger, and that’s been hard for everyone. Playing with our great- granddaughters has been a real joy! Hopefully we can spend more time with them all in the future!

I have failed to mention two more members of Andrew and Andrea’s household. Shadow is a miniature poodle.

I kinda fell in love with him. Also, a beautiful calico, Kitty.

She is actually in charge, like most cats.

It’s been cooler today, and in a few hours we are going on a hike with Andrew and Andrea. Sterling and I did get a short walk in earlier today, and a few laps in the pool. Unfortunately I think we will both weigh more when we get home than when we left!

We are planning to go, basically, straight home. We will be driving through Reno, and spend at least one night visiting my brother and sister that live in that area. We are really getting homesick, and some of our friends are beginning to wonder if we are ever coming home!

Sounds great connecting with your Missouri family. I always like discovering more love.

One thing I realize about myself is no matter how tired I’d grown, how anxious to sleep in my own bed, getting home is not as fun as one more adventure. Home is waiting there for you and may feel anti-climactic, as in, “Why did I hurry back?” Quotes are mine.

    1. I believe that could happen. It doesn’t feel like it, but most feelings come and go!
