We have had a great couple of days here in Joplin. Yesterday in the afternoon, we went to Shoal Creek with Andrea and Andrew. It was really beautiful. Here are some pics.

Today, we got up early and went to the same creek, but went the other direction, downstream from where we went yesterday. It was probably more beautiful! See these pictures.

A beautiful sunrise, and it wasn’t hot!

There were so many places that reflected the trees and sky.

This one looks upside down! It’s hard to tell it’s a reflection.

We crossed the river and climbed a hill and we were on top of these bluffs! The views were awesome.

There was a crack in one of the bluffs. Evidently they have earthquakes in Missouri occasionally!

When you look into the crack, you can see the tree tops that grow on a lower bluff.

Andrea was ready to dance, everything was so beautiful.

Our path at the top of the bluffs.

Looking down on the creek.

A very old picnic table.

There were wildflowers everywhere!

Also some cool looking trees.

This is Andrea’s favorite rock. She’s pretty sure it’s got a story to tell.

Another giant rock, looking like a giant had tossed it around.

Turkytails!

And we saw three herons! Here’s two of them.

I’m sorry this is so long. I just couldn’t resist showing you all my pictures!
We leave tomorrow for Wichita, KS. We’re getting closer to home!
So glad to hear from you!
